Growing up in Arizona, rain has always been something rare and wonderful to me. Inspired by sites like Rainymood and cozy ambience videos, I've had this idea for years: a website streaming live rain from somewhere in the world, 24/7.
I've picked this project up off and on, and here's where it's at: the site pulls from a weather API to find where it's raining, then searches for YouTube live streams in those areas. If none are available, it falls back to Windy's webcam network (though those are time-lapse, not truly live).
The vision: Build a community of rain lovers who host cameras in their corner of the world, creating our own global rain network. I'll be buying cameras when I can afford them and shipping them to volunteers. Stay tuned!
For now, enjoy the rain sounds, connect your Spotify if you'd like, and let me know what you think.
