Growing up in Arizona, rain has always been something rare and wonderful to me. Inspired by sites like Rainymood and cozy ambience videos, I've had this idea for years: a website streaming live rain from somewhere in the world, 24/7.
The site checks weather in locations around the world, then automatically searches rainy places for YouTube live cameras and Windy webcams. YouTube locations are matched by name and may not be exact. Live search matches and time-lapses are labeled separately. Coverage is a preset sample of locations, not every rainy place on Earth.
The vision: Build a community of rain lovers who host cameras in their corner of the world, creating our own global rain network. I'll be buying cameras when I can afford them and shipping them to volunteers. Stay tuned!
Enjoy the recorded rain sounds and optional Spotify or live radio music. The rain sound is separate from the camera. YouTube, Windy, Spotify, radio stations, and our font providers may receive your connection information when their content loads.
